Alan F. Ludwig

LUDWIG, ALAN F., 72, Heilwood, passed away November 13, 2024, at home.  Born October 16, 1952, in Spangler, the son of Frederick and Patricia Eulalia (Fresh) Ludwig.  Preceded in death by parents; and father-in-law, Joseph Rogal Sr.  Survived by loving wife of 27 years, Jeanne Marie (Rogal) Ludwig; son, Shawn (Bridget) Ludwig; and grandchildren, Marcus and Keegan.  Brother of Linda Innocenti; Janice Bills, Washington, PA; Dale Ludwig, Northern Cambria; Ned (Mel) Ludwig, Nicktown; and Nannette (Jerry) Lieb, Irwin.   Also survived by mother-in-law, Margaret Rogal, Hastings, brothers and-sister-in-law, Mary, Joe, Jim, John and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and beloved friends.  Member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.  1971 graduate of Bishop Carroll High School. Graduate of Dubois Business College.  Active member and president of Pine Twp. Volunteer Fire Co.   Member of Hastings VFW Auxiliary, Post 1586.  He retired from Tanoma Mines and later worked as a diesel mechanic at Marty’s Diesel in Homer City.  Alan loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter.  He enjoyed going “out with the guys” for coffee and playing pinochle.  He was known for making his delicious fudge and happily shared it with family and friends.  He was blessed with a kind, gentle, and giving nature and never got excited.  His constant companion was his puppy, Daisy.   His family was the center of his life, and his favorite times were spent with them.  Honoring his request there will be no public viewing.  Friends will be received Friday, November 22, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church beginning at 10:30 a.m.  Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Jeremiah Lange, OSB, PhD officiating.  Committal, St.  Nicholas Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pine Township Fire Company, PO Box 34, Heilwood, PA 15745.
