Allen J. Stephens Sr.

STEPHENS, ALLEN J. SR., 86, Cherry Tree, passed away July 26, 2025, at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital, Johnstown.  Born June 27, 1939, in Indiana, Pennsylvania, the son of Nester Downey and Salome Elizabeth (Roser) Stephens.  Preceded in death by children, Joe, George and Tina Stephens; siblings, Carl M. Stephens, Charles F. Stephens, Margaret Steele, Zula L. Stephens, Norma Wolff; Ethel “Dolly” Helman; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Curley Steele, Earl Wolff, and Harry Helman.  Survived by loving wife of 66 years, Katherine Mae (Wolfee) Stephens, Cherry Tree; children, Allen (Ann) Stephens, Northern Cambria; Charles (Laura) Stephens, Cherry Tree; Katherine Stephens, Connecticut ; and Jessica Stephens, Commodore; grandchildren, Tajia (Brad) Zedek, MaKayla Stephens, Marina, Adrienne, Matt (Chelsea) Stephens, April and Heather Stephens; Andrew and Jeremy Stephens and one great-granddaughter, Chloe Stephens.  Brother of, Irene Pellgrem, Philadelphia, PA; and Rita Stephens, Home, PA.  Proud U.S. Navy Veteran.  Allen was a dedicated worker throughout his life, beginning his career as a mechanic for Barnes & Tucker Mines before continuing in the same role at the Johnstown Steel Mills.   Member of The Lighthouse, Morningstar Ministries.  Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria.  A military and funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 31, 2025, beginning at 10:45 a.m.  Pastor Ken Brown officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by the local veteran organization.  Committal, Uniontown Cemetery.
