Anna Gomolka

GOMOLKA, ANNA, 91, St. Benedict, passed away March 24, 2021.  Born June 23, 1929, in Barnesboro, the last surviving member of the Nick and Helen (Somoncko) Hromoko family.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Walter “Shorty” Gomolka; sister, Helen Guidetti; and brothers, Nichola, Mike, John, Joe and Andrew Hromoko.  Survived by daughter, Helen Thomas) Adams, Flinton; sons, Walter (Mary) Gomolka, Cherry Tree; and Michael Gomolka, St. Benedict; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown.  Life member of St. Benedict VFW Ladies Auxiliary, member of Carrolltown Fire Ladies Auxiliary.  An active volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul, Toys-for-Tots and the American Heart Association. Friends will be received from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc. Northern Cambria.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Benedict Catholic Church.  Fr. Jude Brady, OSB, celebrant.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ann’s memory to St. Joseph’s Mission Church, c/o St. Benedict Church, Carrolltown, PA 15722.
