Anna Mae (Doran) Greer

GREER, ANNA MAE, 83, Northern Cambria, passed away March 17, 2022, at Windber Hospice.  Born October 5, 1938, in Spangler, the daughter of Robert and Marie (Kuncelman) Doran.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Jack Greer, who died March 21, 1985; brother William “Bill” Doran; brothers-in-law, Nicholas Kohan, Herb Greer, Joseph Wasdi, Joseph Steele; sister-in-law, O’Dessa Greer; and longtime companion and fiancé, Paul Kopera.  Survived by daughter, Jackie Greer, wife of Robert Stransky Jr., Jessup, MD; son, Kevin Greer, husband of Michele (Willett), Sandusky, OH; and grandchildren, Tyler and Hannah Greer.  Also survived by sister, Patricia Kohan, St. Benedict; sisters-in-law, Mariam Wasdi and Alda Steele; and nieces and nephews, Brenda Wasdi, Bevan and Chris Kohan.  Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Northern Cambria.  Her career as a Registered Nurse for more than 40 years included service at Miners Hospital in Spangler, Hollidaysburg Veteran’s Home, at Dr. Ray D’Andrea’s office.  In her retirement, Anna Mae was an active volunteer for the church as a member of the Holy Cross Ladies Aide Society and Prince of Peace Church.  She was a member of the Spangler Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.  Honoring her wishes, there will be no public viewing or visitation.  A memorial mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Holy Cross Chapel, Northern Cambria.  Fr. Mark Groeger officiating.  Committal, Holy Cross Cemetery.
