BORING, ARTHUR H. “Red”,92, Cherry Tree, formerly of Pulaski, PA and Brookfield, OH, passed away April 2, 2025, at Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana. Born August 19, 1932, in Hastings, the son of Arthur and Velma (Baum) Boring. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Harold and Paul Boring; and sisters, Mona Mae McCracken, Sylvia Boring, and Remona Karstetter. Survived by loving wife of 52 years, Elizabeth R. “Betty” (Crea) Boring, whom he married July 1, 1972, at Corner House Christian Church in Hubbard, Ohio. Also survived by sisters, Barbara Walker and Sandra (Charles) Karwacki, both of York; sister-in-law, Agnes Boring; brother-in-law, Richard Karstetter; and many nieces and nephews encompassing multiple generations. Dedicated to his family, he was a father-figure to nephews. Growing up, Arthur attended Emeigh Elementary School and Cherry Tree High School before graduating from Chequehanna High School in 1951. He entered the Army in 1953 serving with Army Combat Engineers. He was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Brookfield, OH and Cherry Tree, PA. Retired from Republic Steel in Youngstown, Ohio, where he was a high-tension welder. “Red” was an outdoorsman who loved the changing seasons, spending time in the woods hunting deer and turkey with his nephews, and gardening. In his younger years he enjoyed traveling with his wife. He was a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers Fan and liked to watch Westerns on TV. He and Betty also kept busy caring for their many cats. Family and friends will be received from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, and on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Cindy Rummel officiating. Interment, Uniontown Cemetery. Military honors by local veteran organizations.
