Bernard J. Noel

NOEL, BERNARD J., 85, Northern Cambria, passed away February 22, 2024, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.  Born July 19, 1938, In Susquehanna Twp., the son of Joseph and Sara (Miller) Noel.  Preceded in death by parents; brother, Elmer Noel; and son, David Noel.  Survived by loving wife of 62 years, Judy (Gray) Noel; daughters, Joanie (Michael) Davenport, Susquehanna; Sheila (Steve) Raymond, Millersville; Sharon (Randy) Shelly, Marsteller; and son, Dan (Carla) Noel, Cherry Tree.  Also 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Bernard worked most recently as a guard at the Cambria County Prison.  Formerly employed as a miner for Barnes & Tucker and a police officer for Barnesboro Borough.  He also served as a constable and volunteered for many years as a Cub Scout Master and baseball coach.  In his free time, he loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing.  Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, UMWA Dist. 2, and Emeigh Sportsman Club.  Family and friends will be received from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  Fr. Mark Groeger officiating.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Northern Cambria first responders or plant a tree in his memory.
