Brenda L. (Kranik) Charney

CHARNEY, BRENDA L., 66, Hastings, passed away June 6, 2025, unexpectedly at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital in Johnstown.  Born February 12, 1959, in Spangler, the daughter of Michael and Evelyn (Weakland) Kranik.  Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Jean and Peggy Kranik.  Survived by loving husband of 49 years, James R. Charney Sr., Hastings; daughter, Shannon Kruise, Hastings; and son, James R. Charney Jr., husband of Dana (Swope), Hastings; grandchildren, Leah Kruise (fiancé, Michael Milchak); Caitlin Kruise; Tyler, Anna, Caleb, and Owen Charney; great grandson, Easton Kruise.   Also survived by brothers, Mike (Carol) Kranik, Northern Cambria; and Richard Kranik, Cranberry.  Member of the Hastings VFW Post 1586; Hastings Fire Club; and Rembrandt Sportsman Club.  Brenda was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a proud grandmother, and a cherished great-grandmother, whose love for her family was evident in all she did.  Honoring Brenda’s request, there will be no viewing or services.  Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria handling all arrangements.
