Carl S. Jones

JONES, CARL S., 71, Northern Cambria, passed away suddenly, January 16, 2024, at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.  Born October 30, 1952, in Spangler, the son of Carl and Pearl (Sawtelle) Jones.  Preceded in death by father; loving companion, Kelly L. Eagler, who died November 23, 2023; and brother, David Jones.  Survived by mother, Pearl, of Gipsy; children, Carl A. “Bo” (Zaneta) Jones, Cherry Tree; Bobbie Jo (Randy) Dumm, Northern Cambria; Kristina (Michael) Hurd, Cherry Tree; Alison (Shane) Sickles, NJ; Ryan Westrick, Northern Cambria; and grandchildren, Brooke and Nichole Jones; Aleah, Gage, and Ava Dumm; Landon, Gavin, Isaac, and Owen Sickles.  Brother of Diana Keith and Alice (Robert) Shonsky, both of Northern Cambria; Janet (Charles) Bair, Gipsy; and Bruce (Janice) Jones, St. Boniface. He will also be missed by his faithful dogs, Chumlee and Squeak.  US Navy Veteran. Retired coalminer having worked for Barnes & Tucker and Rosebud Mining.  Member of UMWA and Polish American Legion, Northern Cambria. Carl was passionate about cars and spent much of his free time working on them.  He enjoyed traveling to car shows and was very proud of his car collection.   Family and friends will be received from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2024, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where a service will be held at 7:00 p.m.  Pastor Steve Lecorchick officiating.  Committal, North Barnesboro Cemetery.  Military honors by local veteran organizations.
