Catherine V. (Dillon) Holtz

HOLTZ, CATHERINE V. “Katie”, 90. Hastings, Katie left her earthly home on August 24, 2020 to go to her heavenly home to be with Jesus.  Born August 11, 1930, in Spangler, the daughter of Alban and Marie (Strittmatter) Dillon.  Preceded in death by parents; her loving husband, Leonard Holtz, with whom she shared 60 years and 11 months before he passed on June 3, 2013; sisters, Betty, Jane and Mary Ruth; brothers John, Paul and Pat; and son-in-law, Charlie Johnson.  Survived by children, Mary Anne (George) Motel, Hastings; Susan Johnson, Bellwood; Larry (Debie) Holtz, Northern Cambria; Loretta Fetterhoff, Arizona; and Lisa (David) Cherry, Tipton;  grandchildren, Ryan Motel; Brian and Kevin Johnson; Jeff, Adam, Laura and Nathan Holtz; Apryll, Lee and Logan Walk; Amanda Bartlebaugh and Megan Cherry; and great-grandchildren, Lydia, Chelsee, Nicholas, Karter, Konner, Karly, Hunter, Hannah, Camron, Amya, Justice, Justin, Ryne and Gabe. Sister of Bridget McMullen, Ohio. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.   Katie, a caring person by nature, worked many years as a nurse’s aide at Miners Hospital in Spangler and later as a clerk at Watter’s Drug Store.  She also found great joy as a volunteer for Lee Regional Hospice.  Her life was focused on caring for her family as a devoted, wife, mother and grandmother.  She looked forward to family get togethers and sharing her love of cooking and baking.   Love to All!  Friends will be received at Cross Cut Church, Hastings, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday.  Committal, Union Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Katie’s memory to Precious Life Ministry, 1716 12th Avenue, Altoona, PA  16601.  Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria in charge of arrangements.
