HOLTZ, CHARLES A. JR., 87, Northern Cambria, passed away December 26, 2024. Born April 22, 1937, in Susquehanna Twp., the son of Charles A. Sr. and Marie (Lantzy) Holtz. Preceded in death by parents; son, Matthew Holtz and daughter, Mary Alice Holtz-Elias; sisters, Alice and Frank Jodon, Louise and Leo Bearer, Edna and Chuck Kirkpatrick; brother Francis Holtz; and brother-in-law, Joe Nocek. Survived by loving wife, Barbara M. (Dumm) Holtz with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage on October 7th; children, Ann (James) Pawlikowski, Aspinwall; Quentin (Charlotte) Holtz, Sahuarita, AZ; Jim Holtz, Northern Cambria; Barbara (John) Myers, Dallastown; and Theresa (Bill) Yoder, Mt. Joy. Also 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Brother of Doris Nocek, Hollidaysburg and Leo (Mary Ann) Holtz, Coalport. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church where he served as a eucharistic minister. Member of Knights of Columbus Council 2277. Chuck was raised on the family farm and kept his love for farming throughout his life. He was an Army Veteran serving from 1959 through 1961 and a retired coal miner. Together with his wife, Barbara, they raised their children guided by their deep faith in God and strong family values. Family and friends will be received from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30th, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria and on Tuesday, December 31st, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with funeral mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Thaddeus Rettger, OSB, celebrant. Committal, St. Bernard Cemetery.
