REMATT, DAVID, 93, Northern Cambria, passed away November 30, 2020, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born February 24, 1927, the son of Anthony and Hortense (Delso) Rematt. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Tony and James Rematt and sister-in-law, Harriet Rematt. Survived by loving wife of 63 years, Nellie (Fye) Rematt; sister, Margaret Rematt, Carrolltown; daughters, Darla (Bill) Kochinsky, Nicktown and Sandy (Paul) Serafin, Northern Cambria; and son, David J. Rematt, Sterling, VA. Also survived by grandchildren: Brandon (Raquel) and Breanna Kochinsky and Shane, Shawna, and Scott Serafin. Also survived by sister-in-law, Janet Rematt, Carrolltown. WWII Army Veteran. Graduate of St. Francis University with a bachelors and master’s degree in education. David began his teaching career in Oil City and later taught history at Northern Cambria High School and Middle School retiring after 31 years. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities. David was most proud that all three of his children followed in his footsteps and became teachers. Private services with military honors will be held for the Rematt family at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria.
