ABRAMS II, DENNIS W. "DJ", 34, Bakerton, passed away unexpectedly on July 24, 2025. Born May 7, 1991, in Altoona, the son of Denny and Danielle (Kinney) Abrams, also of Bakerton. Preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Martin and Joanne Abrams; maternal grandmother, Norma Jean Frederick; maternal grandfather, Patrick Kinney Sr.; uncle, Matthew Frederick; cousin, Lukas Shank; and his "ride-or-die", David Venslosky, whom he missed dearly every day. Survived by loving parents; favorite sister and best friend, Dahlyn Painter (boyfriend, Frank Starace), Myrtle Beach, SC; Uncle John (Dawn) Abrams, Bakerton; Aunt Nikki (Bill) Shank, Carrolltown; Uncle Pat (Sue) Kinney, Loretto; honorary Uncle and Aunt, Jill and Jim Lane, Carrolltown; "God-Mommy" Shelia (Larry) Knee, Bakerton; cousin and the brother he never had, Josh (Ciearra) Abrams, Bakerton; as well as numerous other cousins and many friends, whom all loved DJ dearly. DJ received an associate’s degree in computer Aided Drafting from Pennsylvania Highlands Community College. A jack of many trades- DJ was currently employed as a bartender at the Bakerton Rod and Gun Club. He also had his own landscaping company ("Double D Landscaping") that he loved more than anything because his dad worked alongside him. He did exceptional work, and he was very proud of this skill. He also was employed part time by Farrell Paving. DJ was a member at the SS Peter & Paul Orthodox Church,
Bakerton, Bakerton Rod and Gun Club, Bakerton Athletic Club, Rembrandt Club, and St. Benedict Vets. DJ was a great athlete with an undeniable love for sports- especially baseball, hockey and snowboarding. He loved playing pool, darts & cornhole, riding his quad, shooting bows in archery league with his sister, hunting with his dad, watching all of his favorite sports teams play (Chicago Cubs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Anaheim Ducks and Penn State Nittany Lions), Leo James, all music, dancing and enjoying life to the extreme with all of his favorite people. DJ loved SO many things but most of all he loved his family, and they loved him back beyond words. He had a special but different type of bond with each his mom, dad and sister but he was surely a "mama's boy" and loved everyone knowing that fact. DJ was known for his big heart, his ability to light up any room he was in and helping others whenever they needed. DJ was an amazing person and will be missed tremendously, leaving a hole in many hearts. Family and friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. A prayer of the repose will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Liturgy will be held 10:00 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Bakerton.
