Dewey Bernard Pavlock D.D.S, 95, formerly of Barnesboro, passed away peacefully Wednesday March 26, 2025, after a long battle with age related health issues. He died at Cross Keys Village in New Oxford Pa. where he has resided these past seven years. Born July 7, 1929 in Lore City Ohio, he was one of six children born to Mary M.(Ambro) and Martin B. Pavlock. Dewey was preceded in death by his parents, and his loving wife Jane (Semelsberger) to whom he was married for 48 years and who passed away January 26,2007. Dewey was the last of his family to pass, beginning with his sister Bernadine as an infant, Martin E. (Gene) Pavlock WW2 KIA, Lionel James Pavlock and wife Gladys (Yeager), Cornelius N. Pavlock, sister Althea Laurito, and her husband Angelo.  Dewey’s first priority was his family and he was a loving father to his five children – daughters Dana Bonanno, husband Domenic, of Exton Pa., and Linda Laird, husband Gary, of Hanover Pa, and sons Andrew “Drew” Pavlock and wife Lisa (Carpinello) of Warrenton Va., Mark Edwin Pavlock (deceased) formerly of Tampa Fl., and Joseph Pavlock and wife Lynn (Svonavec) residing in Sykesville, MD. He later went on to serve in the United States Army, then attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry in 1957.  He practiced dentistry in Barnesboro / Northern Cambria for 44 years. He served on several local boards including The Cambria County Dental Society and Northern Cambria School Board.  He was instrumental in the founding of Cambrian Hills Golf Course where he was a charter member and served as first President of its Board of directors and remained a life member. His Catholic faith was an important part of his life. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree. While living in Barnesboro he was a former director of the choir at St. Edward’s and a member of the choir at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He also sang with the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral and later Jubilate Deo Sacred Choirs in Altoona Pa. After moving to Cross Keys Village in New Oxford Pa, he joined their Village Choir.  Upon retiring Dewey and Jane enjoyed traveling with friends and family. He was an avid lover of sports, music, theatre, playing cards and games, and gardening. Later in life he would learn to paint and sketch, showering his family with various renderings which he would frame himself.  Dewey was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather as well as a friend to many. His contributions in life were noteworthy, and he will be forever in our hearts.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday March 31, 2025 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 811 Chestnut Ave., Northern Cambria.
