Donald Bernard Obituary

BERNARD, DONALD “Peck”, 85, Northern Cambria, passed away July 29, 2020.  Born January 31, 1935, in Spangler, the son of the late Anthony and Ruth (Blick) Bernard.  Survived by loving wife of, Theresa (Popovich) Bernard; son, Don (Ann) Bernard; daughter, Diane (Pat) McMullen; and grandsons, Troy and Brock McMullen.  Brother of Anthony Bernard, Geneva, OH; and Brenda Hankey, Biglerville, PA.  “Peck” was a veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving four years in the Air Force and three years in the Navy. Former Quarter Master of Spangler VFW Post 7503 where he was an active member for many years.  Retired Postal Service Letter Carrier in Ebensburg.  He enjoyed being active, was a retired PIAA Referee from the Ebensburg Chapter and enjoyed bike riding for many years.  Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, where he shared his love of singing in the church choir.  Devoted to his family, he cherished time with his wife, children and grandchildren above all.  Friends will be received from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  Fr. Matthew Baum officiating.  Committal with military honors in Holy Cross Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Spangler Volunteer Fire Company.
