STOSSEL, DORIS M., 96, Northern Cambria, passed away May 13, 2023, at Hershey Medical Center. Born October 4, 1926, in Spangler, the daughter of Amandus and Annie (Sunderland) Miller. Preceded in death by parents; infant daughter, Mary; loving husband, Frank L. Stossel, who died September 23, 2003; infant grandson, Michael Francis Stossel; sons-in-law, Michael Loy (Lois), Michael Ferringer(Lois) and Len Cunning (Doris); grandsons, Michael Loy II (Mikaela) and Brent Cunning (Nicole); brothers, Joseph, Rembrandt, Arthur, and James Miller; and sisters, Winifred Bradford, Eileen Kelly, Evelyn Lantzy, Mary Buck, Elda Weber Krumenacker, and Edith Bradford. Survived by daughters, Doris Cunning, Eileen (William) Darden, Lois (Jim) Sweetland, and son, Frank (Linda) Stossel; grandchildren, Alison (Josh), Kevin (Jen), Ryan (Leigh), Ashlee (Sean), Hayley (Darren), Katie (John), Taylor and Shane; and great-grandchildren, Trey, Jack, Chase, Emma, Drew, Taylor, Carter, Brooks, Brooklyn, Banks, Bennett, Collier, Davis, Isla, and Leo. Also survived by brother, Francis Miller. Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Doris loved her children and their spouses but especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren—that was her “Happy Time”. She made the best poppyseed rolls and lemon meringue pie. She knew no strangers and loved to talk. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her as mom, gram, g-ma, nanny or aunt Cooie. Family and friends will be received at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 21. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 22, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Fr. Mark Groeger officiating. Committal, Holy Cross Cemetery.
