Dorothy M. (King) Davis

DAVIS, DOROTHY M. “Dot”  84, Northern Cambria, passed away October 13, 2021, at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  Born December 6, 1936, in Spangler, the daughter of Norman and Hulda (Deyarmin) King.  Preceded in death by parents; loving husband, Lester Davis, who died April 16, 2013; daughter, Bonnie Marie Davis; sister, Evannah Hickok; and brothers, Ernest, George, and Albert King.  Survived by daughters, Sandra, wife of Jim Fetterman, Commodore; Leslie, wife of John Wojcik, Flagler Beach, FL; Lori, wife of Todd Kime, Northern Cambria; grandchildren, Jordan Lane (Taylor Smith), Cody Fetterman and fiancé Abby Panek, Sydney, wife of Cody Rorabaugh; and great-grandchildren, Jameson and Riley Rorabaugh.  Sister of Betty Walker, Hillsdale; Erma Riva, Northern Cambria; and Alice Kelly, Commodore.  As a life member of the Garman Church of God, she worked tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of so many within the church and the community.  Dot taught Sunday School for many years, looked forward to Vacation Bible School each summer where she shared her crafting talents with the children, and   also organized the annual Free Clothing Give-A-Way to help families in need.  She worked many years as a waitress at Erma Jean’s Restaurant where she enjoyed the friendships of many regular customers.  In her free time, she was a skilled quilter, enjoyed making crafts, crocheting, and attending activities at the Northern Cambria Senior Center.  Above all, Dot was devoted to her family and cherished her roles of wife, mother, grandmother and Gigi.   She will be deeply missed.  Friends will be received from 2 – 4  &  6 – 8 p.m. Monday at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria.  Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Garman Church of God.  Pastor Rick Gamble officiating.  Committal, McDowell Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dot’s memory to Garman Church of God, c/o Shoebox Ministries.
