Dorothy G. (Jones) Valeria

VALERIA, DOROTHY G., 71, Hastings, passed away April 22, 2024.  Born June 27, 1952, in Nanty Glo, the daughter of William and Jean (Gray) Jones.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Robert Valeria, who died September 24, 2022; brothers, David, Robert, and William Jones and sisters, Jean (Jones) Garvis and Sally (Jones) Miller Jones.  Survived by daughters, Heather (Kevin) Hefty, Reading; Holly (Michael) DeLatte, Cary, NC; son, William Valeria, Hastings; and grandchildren, Grayson, Kennedy, Sydney, Logan, and Alexa.  Dorothy was a caring person by nature and worked many years taking care of patients as nursing aide at Laurel Crest Manor, Haida Manor and worked as a caregiver in a group home for NHS for 20 years.  She was very active in her union and served as a shop steward for many years.  In her free time, she loved reading, dancing, watching the Game Show Network and HGTV.  She also loved football and baseball and watching every game for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates.  Family and friends are invited to a funeral service which will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Hastings Methodist Church, Hastings.  Pastor Ashley Weyant officiating.  Interment, St. Bernard Cemetery, Hastings.  Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern in charge of arrangements.
