Edna Kirkpatrick Obituary

Edna Mae (Holtz) Kirkpatrick, 88, Red Lion Pa., formerly of Westmont, Pa., met the Lord at the gates of Heaven peacefully on Tuesday May 30, 2023, surrounded by her family at York South Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, York. Pa. after a brief illness.  Born November 10, 1934, in Hastings, Pa., daughter of Charles and Marie (Lantzy) Holtz. Preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Charles “Chuck” Kirkpatrick, who passed on November 22, 2009, her sister, Alice (Frank) Jodon, and brother Francis Holtz, her mother and father-in-law, Clement and Genevieve Kirkpatrick, her in laws, William and Carol Kirkpatrick, Joseph “Bud” Kirkpatrick, Andrew J. “Red” Kirkpatrick, Paul and Vern Kirkpatrick, Vincent Kirkpatrick, Leo Bearer and Joseph Nocek.  Survived by her daughters, Lois Ann Kirkpatrick, Red Lion, Pa.; and Donna (Abbott) Reid, Sigel, Pa.   Grandchildren, Andrew (Brittany) Bracken, Dallastown; Sharon (Brandon) Brozovic, Windsor, Pa. and Victoria Reid, Sigel, Pa.;  great grandchildren, Audrey Bracken, & Katherine Bracken, Corbin, Jameson & Owen Brozovic, Windsor, Pa. ; Sisters, Louise Bearer, Hastings, Pa. ; Doris Nocek, Hollidaysburg, Pa.;  brothers, Charles (Barbara) Holtz, Northern Cambria, Pa;  Leo (MaryAnn) Holtz, Coalport, Pa.;  sisters in law, Cathy Holtz, Hastings, Pa.; Betsy Kirkpatrick, Lancaster, Ohio,;  Millie Kirkpatrick, Canton, Ohio. Also survived by countless nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.  She is remembered with love by Ashley Croyle, and her devoted friends that are like family.  She always gave love to those around her and will be remembered dearly as giving and loving towards all.  Edna has touched many hearts with her kindness and giving soul and was a friend and confidant to many. Edna graduated from Spangler High School and went on to work at a local box factory.  She moved to Cleveland and worked for Traveler’s Insurance Company in Cleveland, Ohio, Johnstown Symphony Orchestra, Glosser Brothers, and worked as a Utilization Review Secretary for Mercy Hospital in Johnstown until she retired. Edna and Chuck traveled the world together making countless memories.  Edna’s greatest joys are her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved her dearly.  Edna’s family would like to thank York South Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, York. Pa, for the compassionate and loving care that was provided by the staff to her and her family. Family and friends are invited to a funeral mass which will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 5, 2023, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Hastings, PA. Moriconi Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
