Ethel A. (Weakland) Cunningham

CUNNINGHAM, ETHEL A. “Pace”, 90, St. Benedict, passed away December 25, 2023, at home.  Born November 28, 1933, in Hastings, the daughter of Paul and Agatha (Thomas) Weakland.  Preceded in death by parents; loving husband, James R. Cunningham, who died October 19, 2016; grandchildren, Joshua and Sara; brother, Fred Weakland; and sisters, Pauline Peppetti, Patricia Link, Ruth Ott and Dorothy Smychynsky.  Survived by children, Joseph (Kathy) Cunningham, St. Benedict; Sharon (Wayne) Rieger, Nicktown; Mark Cunningham, St. Boniface; Victor (Cindy) Cunningham, St. Benedict; and Linda (Ryan) Hurt, Weston, WI; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.  Also survived by sister, Margaret “Peggy” Boothman, Northern Cambria; and Cinda Sodmont, Hastings.  Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown.  Member of Rembrandt Club, St. Benedict.  Former cook for the St. Benedict Community Center.  Ethel enjoyed playing cards in her regular card club.  She loved dancing, cooking, and baking.  She cherished taking vacations with her family.  Family and friends will be received from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2023, at Moriconi Funeral home, Inc., Northern Cambria and on Saturday, December 30, 2023, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at St. Benedict Church, Boniface Wimmer room with funeral mass to follow at 11:30 a.m.  Interment, St. Joseph Cemetery. The Cunningham family wishes to thank VNA Concordia Hospice and all the loving caregivers and friends that help take care of their mother.
