COOVER, FRANCIS D., “Bowser”, 81, Northern Cambria, passed away September 9, 2024, at home. Born November 30, 1942, the son of Nicholas and Catherine Coover. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Horace, Louis, and James Coover; sister, Sarah Keith; and brother-in-law, Albert Hromulak. Survived by loving wife of 58 years, Sally (Christoff) Coover; sister, Virginia D’Andrea, Altoona; sister-in-law, Helen Hromulak, Johnstown; brother-in-law, Louis (Carolyn) Christoff, Northern Cambria; nephews and nieces, Albert (Christina), Jennifer (Mark), Charity (Jim) and Emily; and great-nieces, Gabriella, Isabella, and Lilly, “the apple of his eye”. He will be sadly missed by his faithful companion, Gemma, his dog who was always at his side. Bowser retired after working many years as a Grocery Store Manager, most recently for Giant Eagle in Northern Cambria. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and the Slovak Club in Northern Cambria. He was passionate about golf and played many years at Cambrian Hills Golf Club and many other area courses. Family and friends will be received at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc. Northern Cambria on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at Prince of Peace Catholic Church beginning at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Mark Groeger officiating. Committal, St. John’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.
