HOLTZ, FRANCIS G., 67, Ebensburg, died suddenly doing what he enjoyed most, working on cars. Born March 12, 1957, in Colver, the son of Earl F. and Mary Martha (Dietrick) Holtz. Survived by loving wife of 46 years, Audrey (Miller) Holtz, Ebensburg; sons, Gregory (Amy) Holtz, Gibsonia; David Holtz (friend, Amanda), Bedford; and Eric (Irina) Holtz, Cranberry Township; grandchildren, Ariel, Isaac, Victoria, Amelia, Luca, and Henry Holtz. Brother of Richard (Kay), Jacksonville, FL; James (Deb) Holtz, Ebensburg; Sharon (Bob) Giles, Johnstown. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown for 46 years. Member of Knights of Columbus Fr. Peter Lemke Council 11142, , Sons of the American Legion, American Legion Post 506 and Carrolltown Fire Club. Alongside his wife they owned Holtz Sunoco, Holtz Service Center, Holtz Apartments. They also built and owned Carrolltown Professional Building. Francis received his teaching certificate from IUP. He was a hard worker and always wanted to stay busy. Francis had several careers in his lifetime, PIAA Football Referee, PIAA Umpire and Legion Baseball, Automotive Teacher at Somerset Vo-Tech, Automotive Safety Instructor for Somerset, Admiral Peary and Greater Johnstown Vo-Techs. He also worked as a Quality Control Officer for Specialty Coating Systems, Inc., formerly Diamond MT in Johnstown. Francis had many jobs, but his favorite was being an auto mechanic and restoring cars. No job was too big for him to take on. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He will truly be missed by all that knew him. Honoring the request of the family there will be no viewing. Family and Friends are invited to a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown. Father Michael Gabler, OSB officiating.
