Francis B. Westrick

WESTRICK, FRANCIS B., 100, Patton, passed away May 30, 2024, at his home.  Born March 21, 1924, in Elder Twp., the son of Edwin and Agnes (Kline) Westrick.  Preceded in death by parents; loving wife, Mary (Bacho) Westrick, who died in 1997; son, Gary Westrick; grandson, Garrett Westrick; twin brother, James; infant sister, Jean; and sisters, Dolores Farabaugh and Louise Kibler.  Survived by sons, Mark (Patricia) Westrick, Hastings; Wayne Westrick, Patton; Steve (Rena) Westrick, Hastings; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  WWII US Army Veteran and member of Hastings VFW Post 1586 and Carrolltown American Legion Post 506.  Member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings, and Knights of Columbus Council 2277.  Francis was a long-time Heavy Equipment Operator and Surface Coal Mine owner.  Family and friends will be received from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2024, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, at St. Bernard Catholic Church.  Fr. Thaddeus Rettger, OSB, celebrant.  Committal, St. Bernard Cemetery.  Military honors by local veteran’s organizations.
