Frank D. Nelson

NELSON, FRANK D., 78, Cherry Tree, passed away October 25, 2025, at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital, Johnstown.  Born May 28, 1947, in Cherry Tree, the last surviving member of the Robert Jacob and Athelda (Ober) Nelson family.  Preceded in death by parents; siblings, Thomas Nelson, Eva Whited, Samuel Nelson, Edward Nelson, Irma Summerville, and Dwight Nelson.  Survived by loving wife of 57 years, Rosalind (Meekins) Nelson, Cherry Tree; sons, Jim (Helen) Nelson, Patton; Charles Nelson, Cherry Tree; Sean Nelson (Jamie Farabaugh), Northern Cambria; and Benjamin (Jennifer) Nelson, Altoona; grandchildren, Colten, Keesha, Sean Jr., Josh, Christian, and Natosha.   A proud U.S. Army veteran, he spent his career as an electrical maintenance mechanic.  In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and was known as a gifted craftsman who took pride in his work.  All services will be private for the Nelson family.  Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern handling all arrangements.
