Fred C. Nastasi

NASTASI, FRED C., 76, Northern Cambria, passed away April 28, 2023.  Born October 23, 1946, in Spangler, the son of Michael and Adelaide (D’Andrea) Nastasi.  Preceded in death by parents; sister, Regina Ann Yingling; and brother, Michael Nastasi Jr.  Survived by niece, Michele (Brian) Fallet; nephew, Mark (Meghan) Yingling, both of Pittsburgh; and great-nephews, Eoghan Yingling and Mark Galford ETN3.  He is also survived by his god son, Isaac David Hassen Jr. and Gregory Hassen, both of Northern Cambria.  Retired as Borough Secretary after serving both Barnesboro and Northern Cambria for many years.  He was a well-known community leader and local historian who was often called upon to share his vast knowledge and history of the area throughout the years.  Dedicated to serving his neighbors, he was a life member of Hope Fire Company where he held the office of President for 53 years; and was a past president of both the Cambria County Firemen’s and Central District Fireman’s Associations.  He also held memberships in the Western PA Fireman’s Association and the PA State Firemen’s Association.  Fred enjoyed spending time with friends at many of the area social clubs where locals gathered.  Family and friends will be received from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 3.  Committal, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Northern Cambria.
