Frederick "Fred" D. Wood

WOOD, FREDERICK D. “Fred”, 68, St. Benedict, was called home July 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at home.  Born October 11, 1954, in Spangler, the son of Frederick H. and Dolores M. (Mothersbaugh) Wood.  Preceded in death by his parents; and sister Melinda Hetzel.  Survived by loving wife Diane Warner, St. Benedict; children, Steven J. (Peggy) Wood, Ohio; Jeff (Wendy) Warner, Nanty Glo; and Heather Lynn Warner, Northern Cambria; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Brother of Tammy (Ernie) Westover; David Wood; Joseph (Dee Dee) Wood; Sandra Wood; Chris (Sue) Wood and Dolores (Terry) Fletcher.  Employed as a coal miner with Barnes & Tucker Co. and later worked as a self-employed carpenter. Member of St. Benedict Presbyterian Church, St. Benedict.  Fred enjoyed camping and taking his dog Max to car shows where he won over 80 trophies.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, he will be deeply missed by all that knew him.  Family and friends will be received from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria.  A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. July 20, 2023, at St. Benedict Presbyterian Church, St. Benedict.  Reverend Marty Cartmell officiating.  Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
