Gary P. Ondecko

ONDECKO, GARY P., 62, Northern Cambria, passed away June 3, 2020, at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  Born February 1, 1958, in Spangler, the son of the late Peter and Margaret (Zalno) Ondecko.  Survived by loving wife of 39 years, Sheila M. (Tomallo) Ondecko; son, Gary Ondecko Jr., married to Erica Vinson-Ondecko, Waynesboro; daughter, Haley Ondecko, Frederick, MD; and grandson, Gary “Trey” Ondecko.  Brother of Joyce Harchick, Westover; Paul Ondecko, Northern Cambria; and Michael Ondecko, Nicktown.  Graduate of Penn State University and employed as a case manager for Cambria County Office on Aging.  Gary enjoyed hunting and the outdoors and followed the Pittsburgh Pirates and Buffalo Bills.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who understood that family was always priority. He cherished the roles of brother, brother-in-law, uncle and mentor, available to his family and many others who needed help or assistance.  Honoring his wishes, there will be no visitation at this time.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at the convenience of the family.  Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria in charge of arrangements.
