Gary James Rodkey

RODKEY, GARY JAMES,  Northern Cambria, passed away December 19, 2023, at home. Born November 23, 1954, in Spangler, the son of William and Kathryn (Pardee) Rodkey.  Preceded in death by parents; twin brother Barry Rodkey and twelve additional siblings.  Survived by loving wife of 45 years, Magdalene “Maggie” (Ondo) Rodkey; sons, Michael (Mindy) Rodkey, Vinco; Andrew (Leigh Ann) Rodkey, Indiana; Shawn Rodkey, Pittsburgh; and grandchildren, Jacob and Julie Rodkey, Brittany Rodkey, Jimmy and Haleigh Uber.  Brother of, Debbie Furr, Northern Cambria; Ronald (Norma) Rodkey, New Florence; Ken Rodkey, Nolo; Mona Blackwell, Shelocta and Lorraine Abromovich, Northern Cambria.  Also survived by special in-laws, Fran & Pete Ulichnie and Helen Kost.  Gary served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.   Employed as a truck driver for L. B. Trucking.  Retired coal miner from Console Energy with over 20 years of service.  Gary enjoyed fishing and relaxing in his chair.  He was proud of his truck and the effort he put in to repainting it.  Gary was devoted to his family and spending time with his children, grandchildren and daughters-in-law was a priority.  He was quick-witted and had a great sense of humor.  He was generous with his time and put helping others above himself.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  Honoring his wishes there will be no public viewing or visitation.  A memorial service will be announced at a future date.  Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria in charge of arrangements.
