George Springer Obituary

SPRINGER, GEORGE J., 83, Nicktown, passed away December 25, 2020, at home.  Born December 14, 1937, in Nicktown, the son of Francis and Mary (Weiland) Springer.  Preceded in death by parents; siblings, Mary Eschenfelder, Malachi Springer, Valentine Springer, Ella Mae Yahner and Naomi Huber.  Survived by loving wife, Sandra L. (Shores) Springer; children, Diana Shores, Parma, Ohio and Gerald (Lynne) Shores, Streetsboro, Ohio; four grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.  Also survived by brother, Fred Springer and sister, Mary Ann Bradshaw.  US Army Veteran.  Retired from General Motors after working 32 years as a machine repair/machinist.  George loved the outdoors, was an avid hunter and enjoyed working on old tractors.  Woodworking was a favorite hobby that he shared with his wife, Sandy, and together they spent much of their free time working on projects.  Member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.  Family and friends are invited to a memorial mass which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church.  Fr. Jeremiah Lange, OSB, PhD.  Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria in charge of arrangements.
