George "Buddy" Kuzar Obituary

KUZAR, GEORGE J. “Buddy”, 74, Carrolltown, has gone fishing – on February 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family following his long and courageous battle with cancer.  Born March 1, 1950, in Spangler, the eldest child of the John G. and Josephine M. (Vermeulin) Kuzar family.  Preceded in death by parents and an infant brother, John.  He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Diane (Lentz) Kuzar; son, Shawn (Rebecca) Kuzar, Jerome; daughter, Diana (Bob) Keyser, Commodore; grandchildren, Alex and Tyler Kuzar, and Cody and Bindi Keyser.  Brother of Jean (Gerald) Wadsworth, Coquille, OR; Richard Kuzar and Michael (Judy) Kuzar, both of Carrolltown; William (Millie) Kuzar, Northern Cambria; Dennis (Lisa) Kuzar, Patton; Josephine (David) Ciezobka, Carrolltown; Timothy (Mary Anne) Kuzar, Patton; Daniel (Chasity) Kuzar, Hastings; Matthew (Melissa) Kuzar, Martinsburg; and many nieces and nephews.  A US Army Veteran, George proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.  He was employed for several years at Barnes & Tucker Mine 24 B.  He later worked for Cresson Steel as the supervisor of the scrapyard.  An avid outdoorsman, he loved to fish, hunt, and just spend time in the great outdoors.  If he wasn’t baiting a hook, he could be found in his garage tinkering with his many mechanical pursuits.  The ultimate handy-man, George had a fix for most problems and was always willing to help.  Devoted to his family, nothing brought a bigger smile to “Pappy” than his grandchildren.  Whether it was playing cards, riding the mule, taking a boat ride or fishing, “Pappy” was always there to quietly spend time with the kids and will be immensely missed.  Honoring his wishes, there will be no public viewing or visitation.   Donations may be made in his memory to Carrolltown Rod & Gun Club PO Box 341, Carrolltown, PA 15722 for their youth fishing derby or Conemaugh Twp. Youth League Baseball (CTYL) PO Box 163, Davidsville, PA 15928.
