Gerald F. “Jerry” Hoover, 59, Cherry Hill, N.J., originally of Patton, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020, at his home due to natural causes.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francis W. Hoover, who passed away in 2007.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Mary J. Hoover of Patton; siblings: David L. Hoover of Nanty Glo, Dianne (Hoover) Weber and husband, George, of Patton and Sharon (Hoover) Evans of Euless, Texas. “Uncle Jerry” was also survived by nephews: Douglas Weber and wife, Elizabeth, of State College and Matthew Weber of San Diego, Calif.; a niece, Kelsi Evans of Euless, Texas; great-nephew, Logan Weber; great-niece, Cora Weber, both of State College; and godson, Max Shrock of Chapel Hill, N.C. Jerry also leaves behind numerous close friends who were family to him.
Jerry was a 1979 graduate of Cambria Heights High School. He later graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a BS in Civic Engineering.
Jerry was employed by PennDOT, Philadelphia Naval Shipyard and the Environmental Protection Agency, Philadelphia; He recently retired from the EPA.
Jerry enjoyed many outdoor activities, including golfing, fishing and biking. He enjoyed traveling including trips to the Caribbean, Italy, Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii.
Jerry had a great sense of humor, was caring, kind hearted and generous. He was a loving son, sweet brother and fun uncle.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2020 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton, PA. Fr. Jeremiah Lange, OSB, celebrant. All services
will conclude in church. Due to ongoing Covid-19 health concerns please wear a mask and observe social distancing.
