Gertrude A. (Saltsgiver) Farabaugh

FARABAUGH, GERTRUDE A. “Gertie”, 87, Ebensburg, passed away March 3, 2025, at Maple Winds Care Center, Portage.  Born September 8, 1937, in Patton, the daughter of Anthony Francis and Margaret (Burkhart) Saltsgiver.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Alvin Francis Farabaugh, who died April 2, 2000; siblings, Francis Joseph, Lucille Marie, John, Mary Jane, and Ethel JoAnn Saltsgiver; and brother-in-law, Richard Duray.  Survived by sisters, Rose (Charlie) Moyer, Ebensburg and Elizabeth “Betty” Duray, Salix.  Gertie was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Nicktown and the St. Nicholas Altar & Rosary Society.  She was a long-time volunteer at events in the church social hall.  A member of Nicktown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.  Honoring her request, there will be no viewing or visitation.  Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church.  Fr. Jeremiah Lange, OSB, PhD celebrant.  Committal, St. Nicholas Cemetery.
