THOMAS, HARRY, W., 73, Hastings, passed away February 21, 2025, at home. Born October 19, 1951, in Spangler, the son of Adrian and Emma (McDermott) Thomas. Preceded in death by sister, Mary Lou Buck and brothers-in-law, Alfred Bobik and John McAnulty. Survived by siblings, Rita Bobik; Elverda Pellas; Pauline (David) Woods; Leroy (Louisa) Thomas; Walter (Kathy) Thomas; Stella McAnulty; Helen Thomas; and Jean (Rick) Greenland. Harry proudly served as a sergeant in the US Army from 1971 to 1973. He spoke fondly of his time in Germany. Harry was a self-employed contractor. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Harry. He was a lifelong hunter, loved spending his evenings on his fishing boat at Glendale Lake or working in his garden. Harry enjoyed sharing his vegetables with everyone that he met. He was also very generous with his time and talents. Harry’s friends and family knew him as a tireless handyman. His garage was always available for auto repairs or maintenance. He has lent a hand with countless home improvement projects in his lifetime. Harry truly knew that it was more blessed to give than to receive. Family and friends will be received on Monday, February 24, 2025, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, beginning at 10:00 a.m. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Thaddeus Rettger, OSB, celebrant. Interment, St. Boniface Cemetery. Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria in charge of arrangements.
