EDMISTON, HENRY F., 82, Northern Cambria, passed away September 26, 2020, at Indiana Hospital, after a long illness. Born September 3, 1938, in Spangler, son of Sarah (Lee) Edmiston. Preceded in death by his mother; sisters, Mildred Costa, Terecia Hritsko and Isabelle Gressley; and in-laws, Bruno and Jennie Moriconi. Survived by loving wife of 45 years, Patricia (Moriconi) Edmiston; children, James Edmiston, Topeka, KS; Connie (Scott) Messina, Northern Cambria; and Matthew (Adrienne) Edmiston, Ephrata; grandchildren, Peyton and Samantha Myers; Tyler Edmiston; and Lily, Isabella and Oliver Edmiston. Henry was a retired rural mail carrier working many years in the Spangler and Nicktown areas. US Army Veteran and life member of Spangler American Legion Post 569 where he formerly served as Post Commander, assisted with the Spangler American Legion Baseball team and was the current Legion Steward. Member of Spangler VFW Post 7503 and Northern Cambria Slovak Club. Henry was an avid sports fan and spent many years coaching his children and following their sports activities. To Henry, time spent at the ballfields was never wasted and as a very proud grandfather he loved attending the sport activities of his grandchildren. Seeing Peyton play high school football this season brought him great joy. He looked forward to reports of Tyler’s sports accomplishments from Kansas; and getting to meet his newest grandson, Oliver, this summer was a highlight. Friends will be received from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Pastor Paul Demi officiating. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. Military honors by local veteran’s organizations.
