James H. Dumm

DUMM, JAMES H., 73, Nicktown, passed away May 14, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.  Born July 13, 1950, in Nicktown, the son of Kenneth and Edith (Lee) Dumm.  Preceded in death by parents, brother, Raymond Dumm and sister, Ruth Dumm.  Survived by loving wife of 51 years, Jane (Farabaugh) Dumm; children, Deborah Dumm, Nicktown; James E. (Heather) Dumm, Nicktown; Cynthia (Todd) Ceschini, Nicktown; Kimberly (Jason) Bodek, Northern Cambria; and Pamela (Steven) Farabaugh, Carrolltown; ten grandchildren.  Brother of Theresa Scott, Ohio; Dorothy Farabaugh, Carrolltown; Charles Dumm, Nicktown; Janet Mandrick, Watkins; Kenneth Dumm, Northern Cambria; Karen Dillon, Ebensburg; Kathy Farabaugh, Ebensburg; and Ralph Dumm, Nicktown. Formerly employed as a coalminer and later worked in the maintenance department for DCNR at Yellow Creek State Park.  Member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Nicktown and UMWA.  Proud US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.  Jim was dedicated to helping others by donating blood for the American Red Cross,  recently earning his 13-gallon pin.  In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, and going camping.  Most of all, he especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.    He will be deeply missed.  Family and friends will be received from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church.  Fr. Jeremiah Lange, O.S.B., PhD officiating.  Committal St. Nicholas Cemetery.  Military honors by local veteran’s organization.  The Dumm family wishes to express their gratitude to Penn Hospice and Med Van for their excellent care.
