CORBETT, JANET M., 63, Altoona, passed away on January 17, 2026. Janet was born on October 28, 1962, in Queens, NY. She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas “TC” Corbett. Janet is survived by her mother, Patricia Corbett, Ebensburg; daughter, Chandra Bertram, Northern Cambria; sisters, Lynn Corbett-Winn, wife of Roger Winn, Osprey, FL; and Laura Corbett-Contorchick, wife of Robert Contorchick, Ebensburg, PA; and nephews, Joshua and Noah Contorchick.
Janet leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and laughter that will be felt for years to come. To those who knew her, she was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose heart was as generous as her wit was quick.
Nothing in Janet’s life mattered more to her than her cherished daughter, Chandra, who was her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. Their bond was unshakeable, built on deep affection, shared humor, and a lifetime of unwavering support.
A retired nurse, Janet approached her work with compassion, skill, and a genuine love for caring for others. Nursing wasn’t just a career to her — it was a calling, and she carried that spirit of service into every part of her life.
A talented self‑taught cook, Janet filled kitchens and hearts with the delicious meals she created which she loved to share with others. She was proud of her Irish heritage and celebrated the culture with food, music, and craic.
The beach was Janet’s happy place, where she found peace in the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun. At home, she nurtured her plants and gardens that reflected her care and patience, tending each plant with the same care she gave to the people she loved. Her loyal dog, Allie, was never far from her side, a constant companion who brought her comfort and joy.
A lifelong supporter of Pittsburgh sports, Janet cheered passionately — sometimes loudly — for her favorite teams, celebrating every victory and enduring every heartbreak with true fan spirit.
Janet will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know her. Her kindness, humor, and love will continue to live on in the memories she created and the lives she touched.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria in charge of arrangements.
