Janet L. Lieb

LIEB, JANET L., 89, Nicktown, passed away November 15, 2023.  Born September 1, 1934, in Barr Twp., the daughter of Martin and Agnes (Dumm) Smith.  Preceded in death by parents; loving husband, Mark Lieb, who died May 7, 2019; son, Justin Lieb; and brothers-in-law, Urban Weaver and David Kirsch.  Survived by son, Joel, husband of Letitia “Tish” Lieb, Media, PA; daughter-in-law, Laura Lieb, Nicktown; and granddaughter, Stephanie, wife of Eric Livingston.  Also survived by sisters, Martha Weaver and Margie Kirsch, both of Nicktown and numerous nieces and nephews.  Life member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Nicktown, and a member of St. Nicholas Altar & Rosary Society, Legion of Mary auxiliary, and Nicktown Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.  A retired Operating Room Nurse working at Miners Hospital for more than 30 years.  Janet was a kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She will be missed by all who knew her.  In her free time she enjoyed reading.  Family and friends will be received from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Nicholas Church.  Fr. Jeremiah Lange, OSB, PhD, celebrant.  Committal, St. Nicholas Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nicktown Fire Company or St. Nicholas Community Center.  In honor of her favorite expression, to her many nurse friends—“I’ll get back to you”.
