Janet F. (Miller) Smith

SMITH, JANET F., 72, Nicktown, passed away September 10, 2024, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.  Born October 4, 1951, in Ashville, the daughter of Eugene and Teresa (Lidwell) Miller.  Preceded in death by parents; sister, Virginia James; and son-in-law, Mark Sherry.  Survived by loving husband of 54 years, Roger Smith; children, Sheri Sherry, Nicktown; Roger Smith Jr., Nicktown; Ian Smith, Emeigh; and Christina Berkhimer, Windber.  Also 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  Sister of Mary Ann Dawkins, Robert Miller, Linda Greek, and Richard Miller.  Janet was formerly employed at the St. Nicholas Hotel for 18 years.  Prior to her illness she enjoyed doing needle work and made many beautiful quilts and crocheted pieces.  Honoring her wishes, there will be no public visitation.  The Smith family will announce a family memorial gathering to honor her life in the near future.  Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc.  Northern Cambria in charge of arrangements.
