CONTORCHICK, JOAN M., Elmora, passed away December 25, 2025, at Maple Heights in Ebensburg. Born January 25, 1937, in Spangler, the daughter of Leo and Dorothy Kirsch. Preceded in death by parents; loving husband, John Contorchick Sr., who died November 20, 1988; infant sons, Brian and Ronald; son, David Contorchick; and brothers, Richard, Mark, Bruce, Warren and Darrell Kirsch. Survived by sons, Leo (Jean Ann) Contorchick, Elmora; John Contorchick Jr., Ebensburg; Donald (Patty) Contorchick, Elmora; daughters, Wanda Cantalope (Rod Zemlock) Northern Cambria; Cheryl (Barry Jr.) Barrett, Carrolltown; grandchildren, Evan Contorchick; Donald Jr. (Chezney) Contorchick; Lauren and Christine Cantalope (Adrian); David Contorchick Jr. (Shannon) and Tim (Denae) Neal; Koty, Caleb, Isabella and Gabriel Barrett; and great-grandchildren, Colter, Talan, Cooper, Maverick, Aston, David, and Lydia. Sister of Twila (David) Tocarchik, Gordon (Jean) Kirsch, Wayne (Tammy) Kirsch, and Douglas Kirsch. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Marian, Linn, and Rose Kirsch; her favorite cook, Chris Contorchick; numerous nieces and nephews; and her friend and room-mate, Jan Leonard. Joan was a devout Catholic and member of St. Benedict Church, Carrolltown where she sang in the choir. She had a devotion to the rosary and raised her family guided by her unwavering faith. She loved family gatherings and everyone knew they were always welcome at her “Sunday dinner” which she prepared lovingly each week for many years. She enjoyed going to bingo and playing Yahtzee. Family and friends will be received in the St. Benedict Church Boniface Wimmer room on Monday, December 29, beginning at 10:00 am. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Fr.
