John A. McGowan Sr.

McGowan, John A. Sr., 52, Bakerton, passed away March 16, 2021, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.  Born July 2, 1968, in Spangler, the son of Ronald R. and Irene (Sclesky) McGowan.  Preceded in death by parents, and an infant brother, Joseph.  Survived by son, John A. McGowan Jr.; daughters, Megan and Emma McGowan, all of St. Benedict; siblings, Colleen, wife of Robert Weidner, Harrisburg; Darlene, wife of Dave Griesemer, and Cindy, wife of Chuck Lapinsky, both of Mechanicsburg; Barbara, wife of Richie Gaul, Alexandria, VA; Denise, wife of Dave Westrick, Arlington, VA; Ronald McGowan and wife Barbara, Magnolia, DE; Bob McGowan and Maureen, Bakerton; and Susan, wife of James Hubshman, Chesapeake, VA.  Also survived by his girlfriend, Dawn Wisor, Bakerton and numerous nieces and nephews.  Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, Bakerton Rod & Gun Club and Bakerton Athletic Club.  John loved cooking, fishing, golfing, music, and the Pittsburgh Sports teams; but above all his family, his three children, and his girlfriend Dawn.   He was a quiet man of faith who loved the Lord, may God Bless John.  Friends will be received from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Benedict Catholic Church.
