John E. Moten

MOTEN, JOHN E., 65, Patton, passed away at home on August 19, 2023.  Born September 28, 1957, in Beckley, WV, the son of Andrew Clay and Lola Marie (Meadows) Moten.  Preceded in death by parents; brother, Andrew Moten; sister-in-law, Geneva Moten; brother-in-law, Darrell Adkins; and his beloved cat, Pippy.  Survived by children, Clifford (Jennifer) Moten, Pleasant Gap; Helen Irene Moten, Ebensburg; and Jesse (Cassidy) Moten, Portage; and grandchildren, Megan Moten, Kaitlyn Moten, and Danyell Mitchell.  Brother of Edward Moten, Coal City, WV; Martha Adkins, Beckley, WV; and Gary (Melanie) Moten, Beaver, WV.  John enjoyed helping others and volunteering, playing cards and board games, learning card tricks, and watching Westerns.  He was a man of strong faith, he read his Bible regularly and enjoyed listening to his favorite Ministers.  He loved his family and spending time with animals.  Honoring John’s request there will be no viewing or visitation.  Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria in charge of arrangements.
