PARONISH, JOHN JR., 83, Hastings, passed away February 16, 2026, at home. Born May 11, 1942, the son of John and Catherine (Vislosky) Paronish. Preceded in death by parents, brothers, Roland and Dr. Francis Paronish, and sister-in-law, Sharon Paronish. Survived by siblings, Patricia (Gene) Saeger, Conneaut Lake; Nestor Paronish, Hastings; Roland E. (Amy) Paronish, Northern Cambria; Connie (David) Hromoko, Hastings; and Mark Paronish, Philadelphia. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A graduate of Spangler High School, where he was a member of Twisting Tigers Championship Band under the direction of John Woods. John went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from St. Francis University and his Master’s degree from Bloomsburg University. John worked as a special education teacher, spent several years in the hospitality industry, and later finished his career as a convenience store manager. Member of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Northern Cambria. John also cherished his Tuesday evening card games with friends at the Rembrandt Sportsman Club. From the age of sixteen, John cultivated a deep passion for the art of creating Pysanky eggs, a craft through which he shared his talent and generosity, gifting his beautifully detailed work to family and friends throughout his life. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 20, 2026, at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Church. Fr. Andriy Kelt officiating. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery.
