YINGLING, JOHN JAMES JR. 77, Cherry Tree, passed away April 4, 2026, at the home he built alongside his wife for their family. Born September 1, 1948, in Spangler the son of John James Sr. and Ruth (Oaks) Yingling. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Doris Jean Yingling; and many aunts and uncles. Survived by loving wife of 54 years, Constance “Connie” (Pearce) Yingling; daughters, Bronwyn “Buffy”, wife of Kevin Orosz, Burnside; Traci Good, Indiana; sons, John J. Yingling III, and fiancé Melissa, Homer City; and Michael Yingling, and wife Linda, Cibolo,TX. Also grandchildren: Kevin (Laura) Orosz, Dixonville; Johnna (Nicholas) Deyarmin, Plumville; Nicholas, Joshua, and Maximus Yingling, Cibolo TX; Jaxon, Logun, and Maizy Yingling, Homer City. Also survived by these siblings: Bonnie (Darrell) Yeager, Glen Campbell; Dona Ruth (Rod) Kosanovich, Sewickly; Ken (Lisa) Yingling, Myrtle Beach, SC; Karen (Pete) Elling, Phoenix, AZ; Sharon (John) Mavrodis, Johnstown; Thomas (Rhonda) Yingling, Cherry Tree; and Robert (Tina) Yingling, Westover. John was a proud US Marine Corps. Veteran serving during the Vietnam War from1968 – 1970 where he was wounded in combat. He was awarded the Purple Heart along with the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Bronze Star. He was a member of the Glen Campbell American Legion Post 435. John was an avid outdoorsman and spent as much time as he could outdoors as an avid turkey hunter, golfer, and fisherman. He also enjoyed playing darts with many of his friends. Family and friends will be received from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where a funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Lecorchick. Military honors by Glen Campbell Legion. The Yingling family wishes to thank 365 Hospice and PA Home Life for their excellent care and wonderful staff. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center in Altoona.
