JACKSON, JOHN THOMAS, 86, St. Benedict, passed away June 4, 2025. Born June 17, 1938, in Barnesboro, the son of George M. Jackson and Rebecca (Reid) Jackson-O’Leary. Preceded in death by parents; loving wife, Grace (Marana) Jackson, who died December 23, 2018; step-father, Thomas O’Leary; brothers, James and Daniel Jackson; and brothers-in-law, Dean Smith and James Haluska. Survived by son, John Thomas Jackson III, husband of Lori (Kirsch), Ebensburg; granddaughters, Erica Jackson-Ivey, wife of Mark Ivey, Danville; Megan, wife of Ryan Schultz, Souderton, PA and great-granddaughter Evelyn Jackson-Ivey; and a great-grandson expected soon. Brother of Mary Hannah Smith, Pittsburgh; Anna Marie (Bob) Griffiths, Johnstown; and Margaret Rose Haluska, Virginia. Also survived by sister-in-law, Sally Jackson, VA. Tom was a US Army Veteran and member of St. Benedict VFW Post 7783 and Carrolltown American Legion Post 506. Tom worked many years in the mining and electrical industries as a purchasing agent. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, the Rembrandt Club, and Carrolltown Fireman’s Club. Family and friends will be received from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria and beginning at 9:00 a.m. Monday at St. Benedict Church with funeral mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Michael Gabler officiating. Interment, St. Joseph Cemetery. The Jackson family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the staff of Arotin’s Hummingbird Estate and Richland Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their excellent care and support throughout Tom’s illness.
