Joseph J. Bobal Jr., 70, of Northern Cambria, passed away March 3, 2026, at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born May 13, 1955, the son of Joseph Sr. and Donna (Dranchak) Bobal. Preceded in death by father. Survived by mother, loving wife, Judith (Frantz) Bobal, and her children, who loved him as their own, Brigette Baker (Scott Shaw), David (Dinnelle) Smith, and Erik (Kimberly) Smith, all of Northern Cambria; and his cherished grandchildren, Cane, Paige, Nathan, Madeline, Eliott, Natalie, Hannah, Isaac, Caroline, Callen, and Jackson. Also survived by his siblings, Wayne (Kathleen) Bobal of Braidwood, IL, and their children Brandon and Amanda; Kenneth Bobal of Altoona; and Kathy Marshall of Brookhaven, MS. Also, sister-in-law, Joan (Don) Mihoerck. Joe was a member of the Hastings Fire Company. He was a retired Rural Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Patton. After years behind the wheel of his mail Jeep, stopping at every mailbox along his route, he loved the freedom of the open road going on shopping adventures with Judy, always on the lookout for the latest gadgets, tools, clothes, or shoes. He looked forward each year to his annual golf trip with friends and cherished every opportunity to hit the greens. Joe loved good music, conversation, a good meal, and a good cigar. An avid tech enthusiast, he could often be found tinkering with new gadgets or creating something new on his 3-D printer. Anyone who knew Joe would tell you he was a good man—one of the absolute best. He will be deeply missed by many, especially his “little buddies” Eli, Ike, and the youngest, Cal, who lovingly summed him up best: “He was such a good Pappy Joe.” Family and friends will be received from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2028, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where a funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026. Pastor Greg McDonald, officiating. Interment, St. Bernard Cemetery, Hastings.
