BOBAL, JOSEPH J. SR. “Crow”, 92, Hastings, passed away July 10, 2025, at Miners Medical Center, Hastings. Born March 11, 1933, in Hastings, son of the late Michael and Catherine (Schall) Bobal. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Michael. Joe’s death ends a union of 70 years with his loving wife, Donna (Dranchak) Bobal. Also survived by sons, Joseph Jr. (Judy) Bobal, Patton; Wayne (Kathleen) Bobal, Braidwood, IL; Kenneth Bobal, Altoona; and daughter, Kathy Marshall, Brookhaven, MS; two grandchildren, Brandon Bobal and Amanda (Caleb) Mann; three step-grandchildren, Brigette Smith, David (Dinnelle) Smith, Erik (Kim) Smith, all of Northern Cambria; and 11 step-great-grandchildren. Crow was employed by Bethlehem Steel Corp., Gautier Works in Johnstown, PA, until his retirement. Crow was an avid hunter and fisherman, and belonged to the Hastings Hunting Camp in Westline, PA. In his younger days, he was an excellent dart shooter who belonged to many teams in the area. Member of Hastings Firemen’s Club, Hasting VFW, Loyal Order of Moose and various other area clubs. In his later years, he got much pleasure just cutting the lawn around the house. Family and friends will be received at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Thaddeus Rettger, OSB, celebrant. Committal, St. Bernard Cemetery. Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria in charge of arrangements.
