Joseph H. Domalik

DOMALIK, JOSEPH H., 89, Hastings, went home to Jesus November 29, 2023.  Born January 29, 1934, in Hastings, the son of Francis and Helen (Kenchesky) Domalik.  Preceded in death by parents; loving wife, Nancy J. (Ycoback) Domalik, who died July 18, 2019; brothers, Francis “Ducky” and John Domalik; and sister, Cecelia “Teak” Kline.  Survived by children, Karen Domalik; Debra (Michael) Ryder, Franklin Park; Brian Domalik, Ohio; Mary (Sam) Patterson, Hastings; and grandchildren, Laura, Cassidy, Seth, and Nicholas.  Also survived by brothers, Walter Domalik, Pittsburgh; and Stanley Domalik, Lake Orion, MI.  US Army Veteran and member of Hastings VFW Post 1586.   Life member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Joe was a devout Catholic who raised his family guided by his strong faith.  Joe was a natural athlete from a young age and an outstanding baseball player.  He was recruited by the Baltimore Orioles and played for them in the Minor Leagues.  He retired from Greenwich Collieries as a Mine Electrician.  Member of UMWA, Hastings Fire Club and Loyal Order of Moose.  He loved working in his garden, listening to Polkas and dancing.  Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass which will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings.  Fr. Thaddeus Rettger, OSB, officiating.  Committal, St. Bernard Cemetery.  Military honors by local veterans organizations. Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s memory to St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings VFW, or Hastings Public Library.
