Minarish, Joseph R., “Joe”, 64, Northern Cambria, passed away August 14, 2024. Born February 13, 1960, in Spangler, son of Joseph G. and Florence (Bogus) Minarish. Preceded in death by parents and life partner Edward Kerchesky. Survived by sister Marlene (Minarish) Strittmatter, wife of Glenn, Chambersburg; nieces and nephews Heather (Strittmatter) and Paul Avazier, Daniel and Mary (Burns) Strittmatter, and Corey Strittmatter; great nieces and nephews, Jackson and Madelyn Avazier, Remi Strittmatter, and Theo Strittmatter. A Bishop Carroll High School graduate, class of 1978 and received a business degree from St. Francis University. In 1984, together with his partner, Ed, he purchased Flowers by Phyllis in Barnesboro and Cherry Tree, and operated a thriving business for the next 20 years. Joe was currently employed at Kerr’s Florist in Hollidaysburg, where he continued his love of floral designing. He proudly celebrated his polish heritage, dancing and listening to polka music and attending many polka festivals throughout the area. He enjoyed playing bingo, landscaping, and working in the yard. Family and friends will be received from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2024,and from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, where funeral services will be held. Fr. Michael Gabler, OSB, officiating. Interment North Barnesboro, Cemetery.
