BARNOSKY, JOYCE, 87, Northern Cambria, passed away September 21, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born October 23, 1935, in Hastings, the last surviving member of the August and Beatrice (Rhue) Collins. Preceded in death by parents; loving husband, Stephen A. Barnosky, who died March 13, 2002; granddaughter, Ashley Bradley; and these brothers and sisters: Lil, Bea, Ellwood, Augie, Eddie, Rich, Walter, Hazel, Leroy, Mae, Donald, Jim, and Paul. She is survived by her children: Steve Barnosky, Northern Cambria; Ed (Tina) Barnosky, Cherry Tree; Debbie (Larry) Holtz, Northern Cambria; Judy Barnosky, Northern Cambria; Barbara Barnosky, Cherry Tree; Joyce Barnosky, Northern Cambria; David (Lisa) Barnosky, Cherry Tree; Sharon Nelson, Northern Cambria; and family friend, Joe Smouse, whom she considered another son. Also 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Thanks to friend, Crissy Myers for all she did. Joyce was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who made family her priority. She had a strong faith in God and raised her family by her faith. She was a caring person by nature and worked for many years as a CNA at Miner’s Hospital. She enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outdoors. In her free time, she liked playing bingo, going on trips to the casinos, and scratching tickets. She will be deeply missed by all. The Barnosky family wishes to thank Pinnacle Hospice and Penn Home Medical for their compassionate and caring services. Honoring her request there will be no public viewing. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in Holy Cross Cemetery. Fr. Mark Groeger officiating. Family request casual attire for those attending.
