Judy Ann (Erickson) Bogel

Judy Ann (Erickson) Bogel, 73, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 13, 2025.  She was born on April 11, 1952, in Kane, Pennsylvania, daughter of Bernard “Pete” and Patricia “Pat” (Terry) Erickson.  Preceded in death by parents; half sister, Betty (Art) Ludwig; brother-in-law, Cleon Nowalk; a sisters-in-law, Rose (Joseph) Benko; Florence (John) Phillips; and Nancy (John) Stavish.  Judy grew up in Kane and graduated from Kane High School in 1970.  Shortly after graduation, she worked at the Kane Hospital.  On May 1, 1976, she married Paul Bogel, then moved to Barnesboro and spent her time raising her children.  Formerly employed by Rebekah Manor and the Barnesboro Shirt Factory.  Judy was a shining example of kindness, strength, and grace to all who knew her.  Affectionately known as “Mama Jude” by many, her life was dedicated to her friends and family.  Survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Paul Bogel, daughter, Shannon (Cory) Darr, Kane; son, Steven (Amanda) Bogel, Crown.  She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Landon and Preston Darr and Ashton Bogel.  Judy is also survived by sister, Margaret “Peg” (Chuck) Kepler, Leesburg, FL; sister, Susan Nowalk, Kane; half-sister, Jan (Harold) Hallberg, Kane; brother-in-law, Peter “Sonny” Bogel, Hastings; a sister-in-law, Margie (George) Devlin, Beaver Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Judy was a member of the American Legion Post 508 Ladies Auxiliary.  She loved spending her free time playing rip tickets at the club and spending her winnings shopping on QVC.  Family and friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Moriconi Funeral Home, 1303 Bigler Avenue, Northern Cambria, PA.  Inurnment, Forest Lawn Cemetery in Kane, PA.  Memorials may be made in Judy’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or by visiting https://www.stjude.org/
