Karen Marie (Laney) Thomas

THOMAS, KAREN MARIE (LANEY), 70, Northern Cambria, passed away October 18, 2023, at Maple Heights Rehabilitation, Ebensburg.  Born April 13, 1953, in Spangler, the daughter of Elliott and Catherine (Pierce) Laney.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Robert E. Thomas, who died December 7, 2011; and brother-in-law, Douglas Davis.  Survived by siblings, Connie Davis, Cherry Tree; Steven Laney, Cherry Tree; John (Sandra) Laney, Punxsutawney; Janet Laney (Stephen Belchick), Northern Cambria; and Brian Pierce, Cherry Tree, who was like a brother to her.  Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Karen was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to “oldies” and country music.  She was also a sports fan who followed the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.  Above all, she was happiest when spending time with her family.  She will be missed by all who knew her.  Family and friends will be received at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12 noon.  Pastor Alice Haight officiating.  Committal, McDowell Cemetery.
